With almost every company rushing to invest in digital transformation, the demand for innovative tools is stronger than ever. As this continues, the technology space will need to have more people who can excel in developing or managing automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other advanced technologies that have become essential for business growth.

Robotic process automation (RPA), in particular, has a lot to offer as its market value has been increasing to billions of dollars each year, which translates to more job opportunities.

Exploring this career path can be both thrilling and daunting as anything involving technology can be complex.

But, first off, let’s recall RPA’s role. Companies handling huge volumes of data have been investing in RPA to automate repetitive tasks in their system. This gives companies the chance to reallocate their resources, allowing employees to focus on more crucial duties. RPA has long been used in manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, hospitality, and even banking.

As its demand peaks, more workers shift to the RPA market. Of course, those employees with degrees and backgrounds in information technology and computer engineering would have the competitive edge as they can easily grasp the ins and outs of the technical world.

But Lieutenant Vaoafi Hart, the head of Australia’s Intelligent Automation Army, insisted that experience is not required to enter RPA.

Hart stressed that people only need determination, curiosity, and the right support.

“It’s amazing to see how far I have come, from not knowing much about emerging technology to leading automation projects. Seeing the tangible and intangible benefits of our work and knowing that we’re paving the way for others to enter the tech field has been incredibly rewarding,” she said.

She also mentioned the importance of RPA in their workplace, saying this “improves productivity and allows personnel to focus on being innovative, thereby fostering a more dynamic and innovative work environment.

Some of the careers in the RPA space are the following: RPA developer, RPA analyst, project manager, RPA engineer, and IT support/help desk.

Not only they are high-paying jobs, but they open more growth opportunities for workers amid the fast-changing world of technology.
